The JPSC–JSSC Paper Leak Protest: Ranchi's Own Jantar Mantar
Thousands of Jharkhand government-job aspirants have camped at Ranchi's Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium since 29 July 2026, demanding the 14th JPSC exam be cancelled and a CBI probe into alleged paper leaks, after a candidate's viral answer sheet exposed irregularities. Student leader Devendra Nath Mahto began an indefinite hunger strike on 2 August, and the Cockroach Janta Party, whose Jantar Mantar protest this movement openly cites as its model, has publicly backed it — even as some of the same voices that called the Delhi protest 'foreign-funded' now call this one, aimed at an opposition state government, a 'just movement.' On 10 August, the sit-in's 17th day, police met a march toward the state Assembly with lathicharge, tear gas and water cannons, the same day CID arrested former JPSC chairman L. Khiangte and the Enforcement Directorate opened a money-laundering probe of its own.
